Dundee - The City of Discovery (27 Aug 07)

Desperate Dan, Minnie the Minx and Dawg statue.

Visiting Dundee was part of my plan during my trip to Scotland in 2007. It took us about 1/2 an hour to drive from St.Andrew to Dundee. Due to time constrain, we didn't really spend much time there. We didn't even have time to visit any famous tourist attractions. Further more, it was raining, we just took a few photos and had a slow walk in the city centre.

Dundee is known as the City of Discovery, in honour of its history of science activities. Dundee is also surrounded by ports, mainly for inport and export activities.

The only thing that attracted me most in Dundee is the public artwork. Lots of sculptures are placed in the city centre shopping area. The most welknown should be Desperate Dan, Minnie The Minx and Dawg. Dan is walking Dawg the dog, while Minnie The Minx is aiming her catapult.

The Dragon statue.

We followed this bridge and drive back to Stirling.
