Kukup, Johor (25 Feb 09)

Hubby kept mentioning about visiting Kukup before we flew back to Malaysia in Jan. I knew he was so keen to visit this place. I had no idea what and how this place is, until I went there in late February.

Kukup is a little fishing villange located at South-West Johor. People here live in a surrounding covered by mudflats. Life in Kukup is slow and relaxing. This place is famous for seafood and Kukup Island.

Today, Kukup island is protected as a national park under the the Johor State Park Corporation Enactment 1989. The main purpose to protect this island is to preserved its unique mangrove habitat. Unfortunately I was there for just a few hours, didn't get a chance to visit this island.
